“Flycatcher, oh tiny flycatcher. How glad I am that you chose that small birdhouse for your home. I observed you on a quiet morning, and I appreciate so much the hard work you do. You work day and night. I hope your family is safe up there, and I hope that nothing bad happens to you. I am so honoured that you thought that this is your place where you could settle. I would defend your territory if that were ever necessary. I am so surprised that we have never met before. How was it even possible that I hadn’t heard of you before? I can see how important you are; we need you. So, where were you before coming here? Is this neighborhood good for you? Is it safe, or do you feel like there are no places to build your home? Are the cats or the snakes a problem? Whatever or whoever it was and is, at least there seems to be less of that here. You seem to be all around the garden here – I bet you know every corner and every tree like your feathers. So naturally you balance through the fences and branches – even the tiny stems of the garden flowers.”
