The title says it all; this time, I am sharing my experiences in the form of a poem.
Something different, new, and challenging ❤

Carrot
Friend
He had always been a good friend,
the kind who is there to delight.
He is certain in his doing,
he never picks up a fight.
He had never been here before,
so I knew it would be new.
“Let’s have an adventure,
I will build you a home in beds one and two!”
He was confident but not expressive,
all I did was show some care.
Then summer turned to fall,
he still had nothing to share.
I had to face my friend in August,
now the time was right,
Indeed, Carrot had enjoyed the stay,
shining in orange and green so bright.

Watermelon
Crimson Sweet
Two pots, spirits high, and an open mind,
that was the start with Crimson Sweet.
It turned out to be a journey of a different kind,
“Let’s see”, I said in March, sowing seeds.
I was experimental once again,
staying true to my way of gardening.
They said it was easy to grow, to gain,
but you shouldn’t forget the hardening.
So it did; the summer turned out short,
but was it the pots, the gardener to blame?
Maybe I take the person to court,
someone said watermelon’s easy to claim!
Jokes aside, I am not pointing fingers,
I actually grew three small fruits.
It was me pollinating, daily lingering,
and in the end, one tasted like juice.
Was it a success story after all,
being experimental paying off?
What about watermelon next year?
“Sure, but it will grow in a pot rather big than small.”

Pumpkin
An Idea
I don’t recall who picked the seeds,
but pumpkins made Sprout&About fun.
I was surprised by its various needs,
all the ingredients to make it a bun.
To maximize my success in growing,
I put the sprouts outside and inside.
Outside, it was soon blooming;
in the greenhouse it cried.
I learned that it needed space;
a small pot was simply not enough.
If you want to make it weigh,
use compost and manure; I know it sounds rough.
The pumpkin just grew and grew,
“What we do now?” would become the question.
Is pumpkin a vegetable you can brew?
Maybe it helps your digestion?
The idea was born right there,
something even more original.
What would make a good scare,
a job that seemed almost criminal?
You guessed it right: we carved the pumpkin,
It’s Halloween season after all!
Luckily, we had friends jump in,
they had done this activity before.
So, thank you for picking up the packet,
last winter in the store.
Pumpkins might become a habit,
if not eaten, then we will explore!

So you see, there’s still a lot to come,
the garden is giving so much.
I might pick a carrot, maybe more than one,
there is no better thing than such.
More to come soon ❤
